Family:  Chaetodontidae (Butterflyfishes)
Max. size:  11 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  reef-associated; marine; depth range - 80 m
Distribution:  Western Indian Ocean: Comoros, Réunion, and Mauritius.
Diagnosis:  White overall with two broad black bars on sides extending onto dorsal fin; narrower black bar from dorsal fin origin, through eye, to snout; darkened rear margin of dorsal and anal fins, and black bar across tail base (Ref. 47838).
Biology:  Inhabit deep reefs (Ref. 4858). Oviparous (Ref. 205). Form pairs during breeding (Ref. 205).
