Family:  Triglidae (Searobins), subfamily: Prionotinae
Max. size:  35 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; brackish; marine; depth range - 219 m
Distribution:  Western Atlantic: northern Gulf of Mexico in USA to Cuba.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Adults are found mostly below 27 m depth. Young are very common in bays and estuaries.
