Family:  Pomacentridae (Damselfishes), subfamily: Pomacentrinae
Max. size:  10 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  reef-associated; marine; depth range 1 - 8 m, non-migratory
Distribution:  Western Central Pacific: known only from the Seribu Islands in the Java Sea.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 13-13; Dorsal soft rays (total): 14-14; Anal spines: 2-2; Anal soft rays: 14-14. Description: Adults with a large yellow abdominal region. Juveniles with ocellus in dorsal fin (Ref. 48636) and blue lines on forehead. Body depth 2.0-2.1 in SL (Ref. 90102).
Biology:  Adults inhabit coral reefs of lagoons and offshore areas. Also in silty lagoons or sheltered estuaries (Ref. 48636). Oviparous, distinct pairing during breeding (Ref. 205). Eggs are demersal and adhere to the substrate (Ref. 205). Males guard and aerate the eggs (Ref. 205).
