Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater
Distribution:  Asia: Qinzhou Co., Guangsi, China (type locality).
Diagnosis:  Anal soft rays: 14-16. Body dark gray on back, silvery white on lower sides and belly; faintly yellowish on fins. Back behind head markedly convex; mouth small and slit slanted; lips thin; barbels 1 pair and short; eyes large, interorbital space wide and convex (Ref. 45563).
