Environment:  reef-associated; marine; depth range 1 - 10 m
Distribution:  Western Central Pacific: Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands and Indonesia..
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 3-3; Dorsal soft rays (total): 22-22; Anal spines: 3-3; Anal soft rays: 13-13. Description: Characterized by light brown to dusky grey color dorsally in preservative; anterior lateral line scales 19-27; depth of body 33.4-36.6 % of SL (Ref. 90102).
Biology:  Found in shallow water in areas of living hard and soft corals (Ref. 26137); sometimes in relatively silty areas (Ref. 81967).
