Max. size:  13.1 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; freshwater; pH range: 7.40000009536743 - 8.39999961853027; dH range: 7 - 30; depth range 3 - 20 m
Distribution:  Africa: Endemic to Lake Malawi. Widespread south of Ruarwe on the western side of the lake and as far north as Makanjila on the eastern side.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Inhabits shallow rocky habitats. Feeds by using the teeth to comb loose algae from the substrate (Ref. 5595).
