Family:  Clinidae (Clinids)
Max. size:  15 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; marine
Distribution:  Southeast Atlantic: Lüderitzbucht, Namibia to the Kei River, South Africa.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 30-36; Dorsal soft rays (total): 2-4; Anal spines: 2-2; Anal soft rays: 20-23. Color depends on the weed in which it is found; often with pearly spots on body; preserved specimens uniform yellow in color (Ref. 5496).
Biology:  Found among weed at low tide mark (Ref. 5496).
IUCN Red List Status: Least Concern (LC); Date assessed: 07 May 2010 Ref. (130435)
Threat to humans:  harmless
