Environment:  bathypelagic; marine; depth range - 1500 m
Distribution:  Western Indian Ocean: known from a single specimen taken off Durban, South Africa.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 0-0; Dorsal soft rays (total): 72-72; Anal spines: 0-0; Anal soft rays: 58-58. Skin transparent.
Biology:  Rare species, known from a depth of 1,500 (Ref. 34024).
IUCN Red List Status: Data deficient (DD); Date assessed: 16 August 2019 Ref. (130435)
Threat to humans:  harmless
