Distribution:  Africa: Cuango River (Kasai drainage, middle Congo River basin) in Angola (Ref. 11970).
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): -0; Dorsal soft rays (total): 11; Anal spines: -0; Anal soft rays: 9. Diagnosis: head length 4.5-4.9 times in SL; body depth 8.2-9 times in SL; snout rounded, 2.3-2.7 times in HL; eye superolateral, 5.3-6.5 times in HL, 1.7-2.1 times in interorbital width, 2.1-2.8 times in snout length; dorsal fin origin 1.05-1.2 times further from snout tip than from caudal fin origin, slightly in front of pelvic fin origin; anal fin base 1.8-2.4 times further from pelvic fin origin than from caudal fin origin; pectoral fins large, 4.5-4.9 times in SL, 0.95-1.05 times in HL; pelvic fin 6.1-6.7 times in SL, 1.35-1.45 times in HL; caudal peduncle 1.6-1.9 times longer than deep (Ref. 11970). Description: mouth inferior; no lower lip, but cutting edge present; scales small; caudal fin with 19 soft rays, deeply forked, lower lobe slightly longer than upper (Ref. 11970). Coloration: ground color yellowish, head darker dorsally; 9 large spots, confluent in their middle, posterior ones elongated; body mediodorsally with smaller and more numerous transversal spots; fins greyish, especially caudal fin (Ref. 11970).
Biology:  Maximum TL was recorded at 7.8 cm (Ref. 11970).
