Max. size:  17.5 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; freshwater; depth range 3 - 20 m
Distribution:  Africa: Lake Malawi, uncommon in the south (Ref. 4991).
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Occurs over sandy substrates. Move around with large sand-digging species and feed from the particles thrown up by the large hosts (Ref. 5595).
