Family:  Percidae (Perches), subfamily: Etheostomatinae
Max. size:  8 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater
Distribution:  North America: found only in Duck River system (Tennessee River drainage) in western central Tennessee, USA.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Occurs in clear, fast rocky riffles of small to medium rivers (Ref. 5723, 10294). Feeds on hydropsychid caddis larvae, midge larvae, mayfly nymphs, blackfly larvae, and a wide variety of additional aquatic insect immatures plus a few snails (Ref. 10294).
