Family:  Nothobranchiidae (African rivulines)
Max. size:  4.5 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater, non-migratory
Distribution:  Africa: Ruvu and Rufiji rivers, eastern Tanzania.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Occurs in small pools and swamps in the floodplains. Lives near the water surface (Ref. 3788). Bottom spawner, 3 months incubation. Is difficult to maintain in aquarium (Ref. 27139).

Threat to humans:  harmless
