Family:  Pomacentridae (Damselfishes), subfamily: Pomacentrinae
Max. size:  6.5 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; brackish; marine; depth range 1 - 3 m
Distribution:  Western Central Pacific: Papua New Guinea.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 8-8; Dorsal soft rays (total): 10-11; Anal spines: 2-2; Anal soft rays: 10-11. Description: Overall black with blue tinge, pectoral-fin base spot black, caudal fin tips (mature males) white. Body depth 2.2-2.4 in SL (Ref. 90102).
Biology:  Inhabits mouth of freshwater or brackish streams. Found in small groups Life history characteristics for the family specify that this group is oviparous, with distinct pairing during breeding (Ref. 205). Eggs are demersal and adhere to the substrate (Ref. 205). Males guard and aerate the eggs (Ref. 205). Minimum depth from Ref. 58018 but also in Ref. 90102. Diurnal species (Ref. 52881).
