Family:  Cyprinidae (Minnows or carps), subfamily: Torinae
Max. size:  45 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater
Distribution:  Asia: Thailand and Cambodia, south to Malaysia.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal-fin with 9 branched rays; often with sharp scraping edge on lower lip; no black lateral stripe (Ref. 12693).
Biology:  Inhabits pools of clear forested streams and rivers. Often develops a sharp edge on the lower jaw, which is used for scraping rocks as it grazes (Ref. 12693).
