Environment:  demersal; marine; depth range 0 - 250 m
Distribution:  Southeast Pacific: Nazca Ridge, Desventuradas Is. and Juan Fernández Is.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Dorsal and pelvic spines robust with a locking mechanism similar to sticklebacks and some catfishes (Ref. 89357).

Threat to humans:  harmless
