Family:  Procatopodidae (African lampeyes), subfamily: Procatopodinae
Max. size:  3 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater; pH range: 7.5 - 8.5, non-migratory
Distribution:  Africa: Lake Turkana in northern Kenya and southwestern Ethiopia.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Occurs in shallow, quiet and weedy parts around the lake (Ref. 3788). Not a seasonal killifish (Ref. 27139).
IUCN Red List Status: Least Concern (LC); Date assessed: 31 January 2006 Ref. (130435)
Threat to humans:  harmless
