Max. size:  10 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater
Distribution:  Oceania: known only from the Pima River at the junction with the Tua River in the Southern Highlands, Papua New Guinea.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 5-7; Dorsal soft rays (total): 12-17; Anal spines: 1-1; Anal soft rays: 20-24
Biology:  Inhabits headwater mountainous streams with an elevation of more than 800 m in a relatively broad (1 km width) valley (Ref. 2847). An egg laying omnivore which prefers rock, plant and driftwood cover and the following aquarium conditions: pH=7.5, H=10, 26°C water temperature (Ref. 6398).
