Family:  Rivulidae (Rivulines), subfamily: Rivulinae
Max. size:  4 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater, non-migratory
Distribution:  South America: Araguaia, Tocantins, Xingu, and Tapajós River basins in Brazil.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Inhabit both open savannah areas and in streams crossing forests, environments where the water may be from very clear to dark brown colored (Ref. 26657). Not a seasonal killifish. Difficult to maintain in aquarium (Ref. 27139).
