Environment:  demersal; freshwater
Distribution:  Africa: Endemic to Lake Malawi.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 0-0; Anal spines: 0-0
Biology:  Often found in swampy places with muddy bottom (Ref. 5595). Lagoons and sheltered rivers and flood plains (Ref. 4967).
