Family:  Labridae (Wrasses), subfamily: Corinae
Max. size:  15 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  reef-associated; marine; depth range 6 - 32 m, non-migratory
Distribution:  Pacific Ocean: Hawaii southward to central Polynesia, westward through Micronesia, and through the East Indies.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Found in mixed sand, rubble, and coral areas of seaward reefs (Ref. 9710). Benthopelagic (Ref. 58302). Feeds mainly on mollusks (prosobranch gastropods) and foraminiferans (Ref.3921).
