Family:  Zoarcidae (Eelpouts), subfamily: Lycodinae
Max. size:  23 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  bathydemersal; marine; depth range 550 - 588 m
Distribution:  Southern Ocean: known only from the Ross Sea.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal soft rays (total): 85-91; Anal soft rays: 69-75. Head moderately large, robust, ovoid, dorsal profile strongly flattened. Gill slit in large specimens extends to lower edge of pectoral fin, slightly above in small specimens. Yellowish with brown mottling in color.
