Environment:  bathypelagic; marine; depth range 50 - 2212 m
Distribution:  Eastern Pacific: Bering Sea to Peru.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 0-0; Dorsal soft rays (total): 82-85; Anal spines: 0-0; Anal soft rays: 70-74. Dorsal and anal fins confluent with caudal (Ref. 6885). Pearly background, sparsely speckled with fine black dots; black on jaws, mouth and gill cavities, and peritoneum (Ref. 6885).
