Family:  Pseudochromidae (Dottybacks), subfamily: Pseudoplesiopinae
Max. size:  7.5 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  reef-associated; marine; depth range 0 - 65 m
Distribution:  Indo-Pacific: eastern Indian Ocean to central Pacific.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 2-2; Dorsal soft rays (total): 25-26; Anal spines: 1-2; Anal soft rays: 15-16. Appears pink underwater (Ref. 48635). Description: Characterized by having variable color, generally red, reddish brown, purple; belly and other lower portion of head; head with yellow suffusion; frequently pinkish (Ref. 90102).
Biology:  Occurs inshore (Ref. 7300), in crevices near drop-offs (Ref. 8631, 48635). Also found in caves (Ref 90102).
