Environment:  demersal; marine; depth range - 100 m
Distribution:  Western Atlantic: Venezuela (including Gulf of Venezuela) and Suriname.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 11-11; Dorsal soft rays (total): 17-18; Anal spines: 3-3; Anal soft rays: 17-17
Biology:  Found on muddy bottoms. Feed on small decapods, shrimps and fishes. Mouthbrooders (Ref. 240).
IUCN Red List Status: Least Concern (LC); Date assessed: 23 August 2012 Ref. (130435)
Threat to humans:  harmless
