Distribution:  South America: river basins of ParĂ¡, lower Amazon in Brazil.
Diagnosis:  Vertebrae: 35-37. Diagnosed by the following characters: dental formula 4/4; 39-41 scales in the lateral line; 5/5 transversal series of scales; 16 circumpeduncular series of scales (Ref. 75002).
Biology:  Distinct pairs breed on densely grown weedy places (Ref. 205).
