Family:  Cobitidae (Spined loaches)
Max. size:  15 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; freshwater; brackish, potamodromous
Distribution:  Asia: Pakistan, northern India, Bangladesh, Nepal, Myanmar and Thailand. Known from the Salween basin (Ref. 12041).
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 0-0; Dorsal soft rays (total): 8-8; Anal spines: 0-0; Anal soft rays: 7-7. Pectoral fin with an osseous spine in males.
Biology:  Found in flowing or even clear standing waters.
IUCN Red List Status: Least Concern (LC); Date assessed: 06 March 2012 Ref. (130435)
Threat to humans:  harmless
