Max. size:  11.4 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater; depth range - 18 m
Distribution:  Africa: Lake Victoria.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Occurs over shallow water with a soft mud bottom. A few specimens have been caught over sand (Ref. 4983). Feeds mainly on insects (esp. larval Diptera) and mollusks ( particularly the bivalve Corbicula, although some gastropods like Melanoides are also eaten (Ref. 558).
