Family:  Plotosidae (Eeltail catfishes)
Max. size:  33 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; freshwater; brackish; marine
Distribution:  Indo-West Pacific: northwestern Australia, the Arafura Sea (Ref. 9819) and Papua New Guinea. Known from the freshwater reaches of the Mekong estuary (Ref. 12693).
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Occurs inshore over soft bottoms (Ref. 7300). Found along coastlines and in estuaries, including freshwater reaches. Not seen in markets (Ref. 12693).
