Max. size:  50 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; brackish; marine; depth range 10 - 250 m
Distribution:  Eastern Indian Ocean: southern Australia, from southern Western Australia to New South Wales.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Occurs on the continental shelf (Ref. 9563). Observed in pairs, secretly moving about in and out of holes among boulders (Ref. 9002).
IUCN Red List Status: Least Concern (LC); Date assessed: 17 July 2017 Ref. (130435)
Threat to humans:  harmless
