Environment:  demersal; brackish; marine
Distribution:  Western Atlantic: Bahamas, southeastern Florida and northern Gulf of Mexico in USA to Brazil.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 6-6; Dorsal soft rays (total): 11-11; Anal spines: 1-1; Anal soft rays: 9-9
Biology:  Inhabits sandy to marl bottoms in full-salinity coastal waters and mangrove areas.
