Distribution:  Northwest Pacific: Japan (Ref. 559) and South Korea (Ref. 77001).
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 9-11; Dorsal soft rays (total): 19-21; Anal spines: 3-3; Anal soft rays: 25-28
Biology:  Adults inhabit shallow Zostera marina beds (Ref. 559, 43239). Viviparous, number of embryos about 30. Young born from April through July (Ref. 43239). Female carries the developing young (Ref. 205).
