Max. size:  4.5 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater, non-migratory
Distribution:  Central America: Costa Rica.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Inhabit puddles, swamps and brooks of low to moderate velocity. Recorded between 750 and 1100 m elevation. Feed on insects (Ref. 36880). Not a seasonal killifish. Is difficult to maintain in aquarium (Ref. 27139).
