Max. size:  18 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; brackish; marine; depth range - 30 m
Distribution:  Indo-West Pacific: southern Australia.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 29-32; Dorsal soft rays (total): 6-8; Anal spines: 2-2; Anal soft rays: 24-26. Pelvic fin rays thick, finger-like, almost reaching anus (Ref. 9002). Extremely variable in color and pattern; usually matches various types of weed colors; some diffused banding (Ref. 9002).
Biology:  Inhabits areas with weeds, subtidal to about 30 m (Ref. 9002).
