Max. size:  7 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; brackish; marine
Distribution:  Western Pacific: endemic to Australia.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 6-7; Dorsal soft rays (total): 7-8; Anal spines: 1-1; Anal soft rays: 9-12. Gill rakers on first lower gill arch 12-15. Midlateral scales 33-36.
Biology:  Predominantly carnivorous. Frequently caught in estuaries and enclosed coastal lakes. Preyed on by larger, juvenile of commercial species occurring in estuarine nursery habitats.
