Family:  Stomiidae (Barbeled dragonfishes), subfamily: Chauliodontinae
Max. size:  14.5 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  bathypelagic; marine; depth range 0 - 210 m
Distribution:  Eastern Atlantic: Congo south to Angola. Western Atlantic: Brazil south to Argentina.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 0-0; Dorsal soft rays (total): 6-7; Anal spines: 0-0; Anal soft rays: 11-13. Body iridescent silver in color (Ref. 3981).
Biology:  Collected offshore in the Atlantic (Ref. 3981).
IUCN Red List Status: Least Concern (LC); Date assessed: 20 May 2013 Ref. (130435)
Threat to humans:  harmless
