Distribution:  Northeast Pacific: Bering and Okhotsk seas.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 0-0; Dorsal soft rays (total): 51-54; Anal spines: 0-0; Anal soft rays: 46-48; Vertebrae: 57-59. Pectoral fin shallowly notched; caudal fin round, relatively stiff, continuous with vertical fins for two-fifths its length (Ref. 12700). Body uniformly red; eyes silvery; pupil black (Ref. 12700).
Biology:  Maximum depth reported at 800 m (Ref. 12700).
