Max. size:  22 cm TL (male/unsexed); max. reported age: 5 years
Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater
Distribution:  North America: USA from the upper Mississippi River and Lake Michigan drainages; Ozarkian streams; Green, Cumberland and Tennessee River drainages; and Mobile Bay drainage. Introduced into Escambia River in Alabama.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Inhabits rocky riffles and runs of clear creeks and small to medium rivers (Ref. 86798).
