Family:  Ophichthidae (Snake eels), subfamily: Ophichthinae
Max. size:  45.5 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; marine; depth range 0 - 30 m
Distribution:  Eastern Central Pacific: Mexico and the Gulf of Panama.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Inhabits sandy bottoms (Ref. 9328). The specimens were either dip-netted at the surface under night lights or with ichthyocides over sand bottoms of up to 30 m depth (Ref. 27478).
IUCN Red List Status: Data deficient (DD); Date assessed: 22 May 2007 Ref. (130435)
