Family:  Cyprinidae (Minnows or carps), subfamily: Smiliogastrinae
Max. size:  11 cm SL (male/unsexed); 9.5 cm (female)
Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater
Distribution:  Asia: endemic to Lake Lanao, Mindanao, Philippines.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 4-4; Dorsal soft rays (total): 8-8; Anal spines: 3-3; Anal soft rays: 5-5. Preserved color yellowish brown, slightly dusky above, top of head brown; all fins pale. Dorsal profile low with a pronounced nuchal hump. 11 scales between nape and dorsal; 2.5 scales between ventrals and lateral line. Non-continuous post labial groove across the chin. Long snout broad and blunt, 3X in head.
