Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater
Distribution:  South America: Upper rio das Antas basin, rio JacuĂ­ drainage, Laguna dos Patos system in Brazil.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Inhabits small, shallow rivers with clear water, moderate water current and usually with grass or other vegetation at the margins (Ref. 81913). River bottom is composed of rocks and loose stones, and sand, with few macrophytes (Ref. 81913).
