Max. size:  10 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater
Distribution:  Central America: Lake Managua basin.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Recorded from large rivers, in slow to moderate current at 5 to 20 m elevation. It was taken over sandy bottoms at 26°C. It seems to be principally an herbivorous fish, feeding on diatoms, seeds and other plant material (Ref. 36880).
