Family:  Sparidae (Porgies)
Max. size:  35.6 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; marine; depth range 3 - 30 m
Distribution:  Eastern Pacific: endemic to the Galapagos Islands. This species is related only to western Atlantic forms (Ref. 9227).

Biology:  Frequently encountered in bay areas.
