Max. size:  17 cm TL (male/unsexed); 15.9 cm SL (female); max.weight: 110.0 g
Environment:  demersal; marine; depth range 10 - 200 m
Distribution:  North Pacific: Petrel Bank (Bering Sea) and the Kuril Archipelago.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 9-10; Dorsal soft rays (total): 28-29; Anal spines: 0-0; Anal soft rays: 22-23. Light olive dorsally, tinged with salmon or pinkish; marked with dark saddles, bars, marbling, and spots in blue, yellowish brown, carmine, orange and pink; whitish on breast and belly; soft dorsal fin with broad bars of brownish yellow or green with light blue intervals; pelvic fin whitish in females, blue-black in males (Ref. 43939).
