Family:  Aplocheilidae (Killifishes)
Max. size:  6.25 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater; brackish; pH range: 6.5 - 7.19999980926514, non-migratory
Distribution:  Asia: India and Sri Lanka. Often misidentified as Aplocheilus panchax or as Aplocheilus blockii.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Inhabits sheltered fresh and brackish water tanks, small streams and rivulets overgrown with vegetation (Ref. 41236). Valuable for mosquito control (Ref. 6028). Not a seasonal killifish. Is difficult to maintain in aquarium (Ref. 27139).
