Family:  Nothobranchiidae (African rivulines)
Max. size:  5 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater, non-migratory
Distribution:  Africa: Djoué, Léfini and Likouala river drainages in southeastern and eastern Republic of Congo, and in right bank affluents of the lower Congo in Democratic Republic of the Congo (Ref. 47461). Also in the upper Niari in Republic of Congo (Ref. 80395). Reported as A. aff. schioetzi from the Ubangi basin in southwestern Central African Republic (Ref. 47461) but this needs confirmation.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Found in the weedy parts of slow flowing brooks and small streams in the forested savanna (Ref. 3788). Not a seasonal killifish. Is difficult to maintain in aquarium (Ref. 27139).
