Max. size:  5 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater; pH range: 6.5 - 7.19999980926514, non-migratory
Distribution:  Africa: middle Congo River drainage in Democratic Republic of the Congo and Republic of Congo (Ref. 91032). Reported from the Tshuapa River, lower Ubangi (Ref. 47461, 91032), Itimbiri (Ref. 86918, 91032), Sangha (Ref. 47461), Likouala (Ref. 86918), Lulonga (Ref. 47461) and lower Lomami, and lakes Tumba and Mai Ndombe (Ref. 91032).
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Occurs in brooks, swamps parts of small streams, swamps, pools and border regions of lakes; 5 cm TL (Ref. 3788, 47461). Not a seasonal killifish; difficult to maintain in aquarium (Ref. 27139).
IUCN Red List Status: Least Concern (LC); Date assessed: 16 February 2009 Ref. (130435)
