Environment:  bathypelagic; marine; depth range 0 - 3000 m
Distribution:  Indo-West Pacific: widely distributed in the tropical waters. Eastern Pacific: off central Baja California, Mexico (Ref. 35934).
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Meso- and bathypelagic ; larvae at 0-600 m, adults at ca. 200-2000 m (Ref. 58302). Synchronous hermaphrodites (Ref. 35934). Oviparous, with planktonic eggs and larvae (Ref. 35934).
