Remarks A short-lived species which inhabits middle and lower reaches, with shallow waters, sandy bottoms and submerged plants (Ref. 11240). Secretive, bottom-dweller found in slow-flowing streams (Ref. 38442). Feeds on invertebrates and plants. Diet consisted mainly on ostracods, chironomid larvae, benthic prey of small size and macrobiotid eggs during winter (Ref. 38442).
