Comments: As noted by Randall and Earle (1993) it seems most likely that the early records of S. oedema (AUTHOR?) and S. ovifrons Temminck & Schlegel from the Ogasawara Islands were misidentifications of S. obishime. BPBM 35075, 231 mm SL; BPBM 35099, 264 mm SL; Kenji Kato Specimen #167 (Ref. 26066). Status of threat: Noteworthy (Tokyo - Ogasawara Islands) (Ref. 95803).

Estimates based on models

Phylogenetic diversity index (Ref. 82804):  PD50 = 0.5000   [Uniqueness, from 0.5 = low to 2.0 = high].
Bayesian length-weight: a=0.01023 (0.00436 - 0.02401), b=3.09 (2.90 - 3.28), in cm Total Length, based on LWR estimates for this Genus-body shape (Ref. 93245).
Trophic level (Ref. 69278):  2.0   ±0.00 se; based on food items.
Resilience (Ref. 120179):  Medium, minimum population doubling time 1.4 - 4.4 years (Preliminary K or Fecundity.).
Fishing Vulnerability (Ref. 59153):  Moderate to high vulnerability (54 of 100).
