পৃষ্ঠীয় কাঁটা (মোট ): 0; পৃষ্ঠীয় নরম পাখনা দন্ড (মোট ): 26-35; পায়ূ কাঁটা 0; পায়ূর নরম পাখনা্তুন্ড: 39 - 45. Characterized by long narrow chin which looks like that of a horse. The head narrows from the gills to the snout. Interorbital space narrow (head length/width of interorbital space 9.5-17.5). Eyes situated dorsally. LS/body depth 6.3-7.9. Color uniformly dark.

Affinities: M. oudoti (Ref. 2915).
